When the Smith College community was asked (via Bidwell ID and marketing consultant Bruce Putterman) to describe what makes Smith, its students, and its student-athletes unique, the response was consistent: determination, confidence, spirit, pride, and sisterhood. Close collaboration between the college and Bidwell ID resulted in the new visual identity that captures these distinctive qualities, visibly promotes enthusiasm for Smith’s intercollegiate and club teams, and broadly generates school spirit.

John is having a showing of his paintings—his first in a decade—at the Forbes Library in Northampton, MA this  January. The exhibition, called Monique’s World: Paintings of Mali, features work centered on the people and places of this West African nation where John served as a Peace Corps Volunteer. The event was a prelude to Mass Humanities’ fifth annual fall symposium, “One Nation Under God? The Role of Religion in American Public.”

Many of us at Bidwell ID were lucky to attend the dinner. Reverend Walker got us all fired up about such things as hope, education, and community service. We are proud to be affiliated with Mass Humanities and its challenging and important work.

Bidwell ID is excited to announce our new account executive Ed Latour. Ed comes to us from the United Way of Pioneer Valley. He earned his chops in account management at David Wilson Associates in Boston, and Masterminds Advertising in Atlantic City. He has a penchant for neckties, and is deathly afraid of frogs.

Bidwell ID launches the new Mass Humanities brand. Previously known as the Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities, Bidwell ID developed the new identity and Web site. When Atalasoft got ready to launch their first product, a web based “zero-footprint” document and image viewer for SharePoint, they came to Bidwell ID. They needed the works, and needed it fast. With a highly accelerated schedule we provided strategic marketing research, developed a name, logo, and a Web site, and branding guidelines.

Aouatif Ansari—who goes by her surname—is our new marketing intern. She is a senior who loves her studies at UMass where she is majoring in marketing and minoring in information technology. When not reading and writing for classes, she can still be found reading writing about…well, anything. She is a proud fan of the Giants, even before they crushed the Patriots to win Super Bowl XLII.
Christina Martins recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Umass Dartmouth with a BFA in Graphic Design. She is passionate about design and is inspired by the likes of Stefan Sagmeister. Christina digs painting, hiking, and going on adventures. She is particularly smitten with donkeys, planning to start a farm of them once she is more established.
